Ride For Murdered Women

In April 2017 Jean Hatchet began riding her bike to honour the life of each woman murdered by a male current or former partner or family member. She dedicates each ride to an individual woman murdered by a man and thinks of her and celebrates her life as she rides. This is to pay tribute to the woman lost to a man's fatal violence and also to raise awareness of how the beautiful woman was killed. Jean has ridden her bike for over 330 women and more than 9000 miles. She now leads an annual bike ride where she invites women from all over the world to join her in honouring the lives of all the women who have been murdered by men they knew. She has to date raised more than £46,000 for women's refuges and other services to help women escaping domestic abuse. Jean rides as often as she can despite having advanced ovarian cancer.
